As follow-up to the workshop on low waters and their effects on Rhine navigation organised by the CCNR in November 2019, the Secretariat presents a reflection paper, reporting on the main conclusions, challenges, measures and the first ideas for next steps to increase the resilience of IWT to low water.
Owing to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR) held its Spring session on 4 June 2020 by video conference.
The new report on European inland navigation, drafted by the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR) in partnership with the European Commission, is now available.
The CCNR has taken exceptional measures in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure a good performance of Rhine navigation and that the supply chain continues to operate.
The CCNR, in partnership with the European Commission, publishes annual and biannual reports dealing with the European inland navigation market. From 2020 onwards, thematic reports will also be published once a year. This thematic report on riversea transport is the first in a series.
