Provision concerning the Carriage of Dangerous Goods on the Rhine (ADNR)


settles the technical and operational safety requirements for the licence and the operation of inland navigation vessels carrying on board dangerous goods. Dangerous goods are e.g.

  • explosive substances and articles,
  • gases,
  • flammable liquids and solids,
  • toxic and infectious substances,
  • radioactive and corrosive substances.

Part 9 Rules for construction
In the ADNR provisions are settled the requirements to apply additionally to the Police Regulation, Inspection Regulation for vessels and the boatmaster licence Regulation. The ADNR provisions apply to all vessels intended to carry dangerous goods on the Rhine. The vessel has to have in addition to the ship's certificate (ship's attest) a special certificate of approval.
